Well
1. You can upload a previously saved well by clicking IMPORT or add a new well. To add a new well, inside the dedicated pad folder click + NEW WELL:
2. Then enter well name:
3. Select data input mode WORKFLOW
4. Assign an available Field Engineer:
5. Select service level and click CONTINUE:
Level 1 – MSA correction only; Level 2 – MSA and BHA sag corrections; Level 3 – MSA and BHA sag, corrections + high-definitive trajectory.
6. Enter Latitude, Longitude, and Altitude of the wellhead and click CONTINUE:
7. Select North Type:
If you select Grid North you can select automatic calculation Grid Convergence by WGS84 model or enter a manual value. Please, verify your well Datum thoroughly: Grid Convergence can differ for different Datum significantly!
8. Select Gravity model IGF80 for automatic gravity reference calculation (total G) or use manual input:
9. Select GLOBAL for automatic magnetic reference calculation of the total B, dip angle, and magnetic declination. Crustal model is not available in the open source version. To use manual input of the geomag reference click MANUAL and select BGGM, HDGM, or IFR:
10. Click SUBMIT button to complete the well creation.
You can delete, save, or edit the well with DELETE, EXPORT and EDIT buttons:
If you select MANUAL mode, you will be able to edit all entities inside the well. However, the input wizards or WITS streaming will be unavailable. You can return in WORKFLOW mode with switching Data input mode and clicking SUBMIT.
You can check the well mode with the icon in right upper corner: or
Borehole
Add Borehole
- You can upload a previously saved borehole in MANUAL mode by clicking IMPORT or add a new borehole. To add a new borehole, the dedicated well folder click + NEW BOREHOLE:
In the well MANUAL mode you can manually activate and finalize a borehole. You can add a new borehole only if there is no active borehole in the well.
2. Enter the Borehole name:
3. Enter start depth of the borehole:
4. Enter elevation of the depth reference:
5. Enter start date of the borehole and click CONTINUE:
6. Enter or upload Wellbore Geometry from WITSML file
7. Optionally you can enter intervals of external magnetic interference (like fishing, close offset well, etc.) if they are known. That information is utilized for more accurate alerting. Then click SUBMIT.
Edit, Save, and Delete Borehole
You can delete, save, or edit the borehole with DELETE, EXPORT and EDIT buttons.
The platform does not support cascade deleting, to delete a borehole you have to delete all content inside the borehole folder.
Finalize Borehole
To add a new borehole, no borehole must be active. If you have an active borehole you need to finalize it by LOCK button in WORKFLOW mode.
In MANUAL mode a borehole is finalized by FINALIZE button inside the well folder:
Correct and Report
Button CORRECTION re-corrects the borehole; button REPORT generates the borehole survey report:
Tabs
There are three tabs: RUNS, QUICK REPORT, WELLBORE GEOMETRY
RUNS tab
The tab manages drilling runs. Button + NEW RUN creates a new run, the previous runs must be finalized. In MANUAL mode you can activate and finalize runs, and button IMPORT imports a previously saved run in JSON format.
QUICK REPORT tab
The tab reports the corrected surveys and correction issues:
WELLBORE GEOMETRY tab
The tab shows actual WBG:
Run
Add Run
1. You can upload a previously saved run in MANUAL mode by clicking IMPORT or add a new run. To add a new run, the dedicated borehole folder click + NEW RUN:
2. Enter Run name and mud weight:
3. Enter or upload BHA from WITSML file:
If the WITSML doesn’t contain required information or doesn’t implement WISML format fully you have to fill some fields manually.
Please, verify your entering ALL information correctly. The most critical information are the MWD position and D&I to bit distance, the positions and diameters of the string stabilizers, the motor bend angle and bend to bit distance.
4. Enter the current drilling section diameter:
5. Enter manually or upload the planned trajectory from csv file. Also, enter the plan revision number. Then click SUBMIT button to create the run.
Upload .csv format for the Plan
Edit, Save, and Delete Run
You can delete, save, or edit the run with DELETE, EXPORT and EDIT buttons.
Finalize Run
To add a new run, no run must be active. If you have an active run you need to finalize it by LOCK button in WORKFLOW mode.
In MANUAL mode a run is finalized by FINALIZE button inside the borehole folder:
Correct
Correction is run automatically when a new survey comes, however, you can re-correct the run by button CORRECTION.
Tabs
There are six tabs: SURVEYS, CI, CHARTS, BHA, WELLBORE GEOMETRY, PLAN
SURVEYS tab
The tab manages MWD surveys.
Button + NEW SURVEY starts the input wizard to add a new MWD survey and continuous inclinations.
Button UNDO LAST SURVEY undoes the latest input.
Button EXPORT saves the surveys in JSON format.
Button IMPORT loads the surveys from JSON format.
Accordion Raw 6-axis contains raw 6-axis surveys:
Accordion Raw station contains uncorrected stations:
Accordion Corrected stations contains corrected stations. If a station failed gravity QC it is highlighted red; yellow means magnetic QC failed; green color means all QC are good:
Accordion HD stations contains high definition trajectory stations:
Accordion QC flags shows status words for MSA correction, BHA sag correction, Stockhausen effect correction, general survey and reference QC, and positional QC:
CI tab
The tab contains continuous inclination data. CI data are read only, however, it can be re-upload in MANUAL mode by IMPORT. Button EXPORT saves continuous inclination in JSON format:
CHARTS tab
The tab contains the Dynamic FAC plots for the total G, total B, and dip angle:
BHA tab
The tab shows BHA summary:
WELLBORE GEOMETRY tab
The tab shows actual WBG:
PLAN tab
The tab shows the planned trajectory:
In MANUAL mode the plan can be updated by button UPLOAD NEW REVISION.
Survey Input
Please, verify your entering only “good” surveys from the same BHA run. “Bad” surveys (taken in motion, inside or near casing, with poor telemetry, etc.) or surveys taken from a different BHA run drastically affect the MSA correction.
1. To enter a new pack of real time data click + NEW SURVEY.
2. Input 6-axis survey or upload from csv file by clicking IMPORT FROM CSV:
6-axis csv file format:
3. Enter or upload continuous inclination from las file.
If there is no continuous inclination data click SKIP:
Las file:
5. Confirm plan revision or upload a new version. Check survey pre-QC, if the system corrected surveys before you will see two quality checks: for the raw survey and for the pre-corrected one. Click SUBMIT:
6. After submitting of a new data portion the correction is started automatically
7. When correction is completed you will see green CORRECTION, corrected surveys, and quality flags. If you made a mistake you can undo the previous input by clicking UNDO LAST SURVEY.
