MWD STD Basic: Quick Start

Create Well

1. Inside the dedicated pad click + NEW WELL.

2. Fill the well name; select data input mode WORKFLOW; assign a dedicated Field engineer; select service level; click CONTINUE

3. Enter the well head location

4. Select North type and, if needed, for WGS84 datum select WGS84, otherwise select MANUAL and enter Grid Convergence

5. Gravity reference: keep IGF80 for the automatic calculation of the gravity reference or click MANUAL to enter a manual gravity value.

Geomagnetic reference model: keep GLOBAL for the automatic calculation of the magnetic reference by WMM or select BGGM, HDGM, or IFR for manual input.

6. Click SUBMIT

Create Borehole

1. Click + NEW BOREHOLE:

2. Fill the borehole information: name, borehole start depth, RKB elevation, and start date of drilling.

3. Complete WBG:

3. Optionally you can enter intervals of external magnetic interference (like fishing, close offset well, etc.) if they are known. That information is utilized for more accurate alerting. Then click SUBMIT.

Create Run

1. Click + NEW RUN:

2. Enter Run name and mud weight:

3. Enter or upload BHA from WITSML file:

If the WITSML doesn’t contain required information or doesn’t implement WISML format fully you have to fill some fields manually.

4. Enter the current drilling section diameter:

5. Enter manually or upload the planned trajectory from csv file. Then click SUBMIT.

Add Survey

1. To enter a new pack of real time data click + NEW SURVEY.

2. Input 6-axis survey or upload from csv file by clicking IMPORT FROM CSV:

3. Enter or upload continuous inclination from las file.

If there is no continuous inclination data click SKIP.

5. Confirm plan revision or upload a new version. Check survey pre-QC and click SUBMIT:

6. After submitting of a new data portion the correction is started automatically

7. When correction is completed you will see green CORRECTION, corrected surveys, and quality flags. If you made a mistake you can undo the previous input by clicking UNDO LAST SURVEY.
